Click Count Hero allows you to track how many times an individual subscriber has shown interest in a particular page or offer within a set period of time.

For example:

If somebody visits your main offer three times within 60 days, you could apply a tag and move them into a more targeted follow-up campaign.

That's only one use case though - Click Count Hero can be used anywhere that repeated visits or clicks are useful information for your marketing.

Setting Up Your Click Count Hero:

  1. Create a new Click Count Hero, choose your integration and give your Hero a clear name and optional label.

  2. Enter your Destination URL. This is the page that your subscriber is ultimately trying to visit. For example:

    • A sales page.
    • A VSL.
    • A checkout page.
    • A webinar page.

  3. If the same offer has multiple destination pages, click Add Another Page and add the additional URLs. For example, you might have:

    • A VSL version of your offer.
    • A written sales page.
    • A social-proof-focused sales page.

  4. (OPTIONAL) Enable Forward Email Address To The Page if you want the subscriber's email address to remain available in the URL after they arrive.

  5. Choose your Count Event. There are two main options:

    1. Link Click - This counts the event when somebody clicks your Click Count Hero link.

    2. Time On Page - This only counts the event once somebody has remained on the destination page for the specified number of seconds.

RECOMMENDATION: For campaigns where you're using Click Count Hero to measure purchase intent, we normally recommend using Time On Page.

Email-security systems can sometimes automatically follow links inside emails. Using Time On Page helps prevent those automated clicks from being mistaken for genuine subscriber interest.

Even something as short as 3 seconds can help with this.

  1. Set the number of qualifying events required and the period they need to happen within. For example:

    • 3 visits in 60 days.
    • 2 visits in 7 days.
    • 10 visits in 180 days.

  2. Choose what should happen when that threshold is reached. The actions available will depend on your integration and may include:

    • Assigning a tag.
    • Removing a tag.
    • Updating a field.
    • Adding/removing somebody from a list.

  3. Select the relevant tag, field, list or other target.

  4. If required, use the blue + option to add additional actions.

  5. You can also add additional triggers to the same Click Count Hero if you'd like to track several different levels of interest.

  6. Click Save & Get Code.

If You're Using Time On Page:

If you've selected Time On Page, you'll now see a Time On Page Event Code. Copy this code and add it to each destination page being tracked.

This is what allows Click Count Hero to confirm that the subscriber has genuinely remained on the page for your chosen amount of time.

Using Your Click Count Hero Links:

After saving, you'll also see a dedicated Redirect Link beside each destination URL.

IMPORTANT: From now on, whenever you're sending subscribers to one of these destination pages as part of this campaign, use the Click Count Hero Redirect Link instead of the normal page URL.

The Click Count Hero link identifies the subscriber, records the event and then redirects them to the correct destination page.

And that's it - your Click Count Hero is ready to start tracking interest!
