Redirect Hero allows you to use one link while sending different subscribers to different pages depending on information inside your email marketing platform or CRM.

For example: You mention a module from one of your programmes inside an email.

  • Customers who already own the programme → go directly to the module.
  • Subscribers who haven't bought it → go to the sales page.

Both subscribers can click exactly the same link.

Redirect Hero checks their contact record and takes them to the correct destination.

Setting Up Your Redirect Hero:

  1. Create a new Redirect Hero, choose your integration and give your Hero a clear name and optional label.

  2. Click the green Add Another Redirect button.

  3. From the If section, choose the type of information Redirect Hero should check. The available options depend on your integration and may include:
  • Tags.
  • Fields.
  • Lists.
  • Groups.
  • Segments.

(For this example, we'll use a tag)

  1. Select the specific tag you want Redirect Hero to check.
NOTE: If you've recently created a tag or field and can't see it, use the Sync/Refresh button to update the information from your email platform.

  1. Choose the condition:
  • Is Present
  • Is Not Present
  1. Enter the URL the subscriber should be sent to if that condition is true. For example: If CUSTOMER tag IS PRESENT → Members Area
  1. We normally recommend explicitly creating the opposite rule too. For example: If CUSTOMER tag IS NOT PRESENT → Sales Page. This makes your logic much easier to follow and reduces the chance of leaving gaps in your Redirect Hero.

Adding More Conditions:

You can click the blue Add Extra Condition option to create more advanced rules. For example:

If Tag A IS PRESENT

AND

Tag B IS NOT PRESENT

→ Go To URL

You can also use OR conditions where required.

RECOMMENDATION: Keep your Redirect Hero as simple as your campaign allows. The more conditions you add, the easier it becomes to accidentally create gaps or contradictory logic.

  1. Add as many additional Redirects as your campaign requires. For example, you could send subscribers interested in different topics to different versions of the same sales pagem while still using one link in the email.

  1. Enter your Fallback URL. Think of this as your safety net - if Redirect Hero can't determine which of your rules somebody matches, they'll be sent here instead. Choose a destination that makes sense for anybody who falls outside your other rules.

  1. (OPTIONAL) Enable Forward Email Address To The Page if you'd like the subscriber's email address to remain available in the URL.

  2. Depending on your integration, you may also be able to assign or remove tags after the Redirect Hero runs. This can be useful if you'd like to record that somebody has used a particular Redirect Hero.

  1. Click Save & Get Code.

Using Your Redirect Hero:

You'll normally receive two main link options.

  1. Link Click URL - Use this inside your emails instead of linking directly to one of the destination pages. AutomateHero will identify the subscriber, check your rules and take them to the correct page.

  2. Thank You Page URL - Use this when Redirect Hero should run after somebody completes a form.

Review your logic one final time, make sure your Hero is Active, and save your changes.

Redirect Hero will now take care of sending each subscriber to the right place!
