Scarcity Hero allows you to build real quantity-based scarcity into your promotions.
For example, you can display:
- The total number of units available.
- How many have been taken.
- How many remain.
You can also automatically change the sales page, offer or price depending on the amount of availability remaining.
IMPORTANT: Scarcity Hero gets its data from your connected email marketing platform or CRM. It does not directly monitor your payment processor. This means your CRM needs some way of identifying somebody who has taken one of the available units - for example, by applying a purchase tag.
Setting Up Your Scarcity Hero:
- Create a new Scarcity Hero, choose your integration and give your Hero a clear name and optional label.
- Choose your Counter Type. The available options will depend on your integration and may include:
- Tag.
- Field.
- List.
- Other platform-specific options.
- Select your Counter Target. For example, if everybody who purchases receives a particular tag, select that purchase tag.
- Enter your Total Available. Scarcity Hero will use the Counter Target to determine how many have been taken and how many remain. For example:
- 5 places.
- 10 tickets.
- 100 units.
- 1,000 bonuses.
- (OPTIONAL) Enable the Expired/Sold Out popup if you'd like to display a notification before redirecting somebody away from the offer. You can customise its appearance and messaging or copy the styling from another Hero. If you don't need a popup, you can simply redirect subscribers directly.
- If you don't need a waitlist, select None. If you do want to use a waitlist, Scarcity Hero can control when the main offer becomes available. Depending on your setup, this could be based on information such as a tag/field or a particular date and time.
- Date & Time Waitlist - Enter the date, time, timezone and waitlist page URL. Before that time, subscribers can be directed to your waitlist page. Once the date/time is reached, Scarcity Hero can begin directing them into the live promotion instead.
- Date & Time Waitlist - Enter the date, time, timezone and waitlist page URL. Before that time, subscribers can be directed to your waitlist page. Once the date/time is reached, Scarcity Hero can begin directing them into the live promotion instead.
- Set your first X Or More Remaining rule. For example: 0 or more remaining → Main Sales Page
- Enter the Sales Page URL for that range.
- (OPTIONAL) Enter a Cart Page URL if you'd also like Scarcity Hero to manage a specific checkout page for that range.
- Use Add Another Rangeif the offer should change as availability decreases. For example:
- 10 or more remaining → £97 Page
- 5 or more remaining → £127 Page
- 0 or more remaining → £147 Page
IMPORTANT: Check The Order Of Your Scarcity Ranges
Scarcity Hero checks these ranges from top to bottom. Using the example above, they must therefore be ordered:
1. 10 or more
2. 5 or more
3. 0 or more
Do not order them as 0, 5, 10. If 0 or more was at the top, almost everybody would immediately match that condition before Scarcity Hero had a chance to check the more specific ranges beneath it.
Use the drag handle on the left of each row to put your ranges into the correct order.
- Enter your Sold Out URL. This is where subscribers should go once all available units have been taken. For example:
- Sold Out page.
- Waitlist page.
- Full-price offer.
- Alternative product.
Using Scarcity Merge Fields:
Scarcity Hero provides merge fields that can dynamically display your current availability on the page. These include values such as:
• Total units available.
• Units taken.
• Units remaining.
For example, if you started with 10 places and six have been taken, your page could display:
10 places available — 6 taken — 4 remaining
If you're using a waitlist, equivalent waitlist merge fields are also available.- (OPTIONAL) Enable Animate Merge Fields if you'd like these values to animate when they appear on screen. For example, the number can count up/down until it reaches the current live value.
Adding Scarcity Hero To Your Pages:
- Click Save & Get Code.
- Copy your Scarcity Hero embed code.
- Add that code to every sales page being controlled by this Scarcity Hero. For example, if you have separate pages for:
- 10+ remaining.
- 5+ remaining.
- 0+ remaining.
Make sure the Scarcity Hero code is installed on all three.
- Publish each page.
IMPORTANT: Use Your Scarcity Hero Links
Once you've clicked Save & Get Code, you'll see dedicated links generated beneath your Scarcity ranges. These may include:
- Sales Page Link
- Cart Page Link
Use these links when sending traffic into the campaign instead of linking directly to one of your normal sales pages. Scarcity Hero will check the current availability first and send the subscriber directly to the correct version of the page.
Once everything has been tested:
- Turn Test Mode OFF.
- Make sure your Hero is Active.
- Save your changes.
Your Scarcity Hero is now ready to create genuine scarcity inside your promotion!
