When you're using the 'Link Click URL' inside of Countdown, this will trigger the countdown timer on the first instance in which your subscriber clicks that particular link in your email platform.

^^ This is a great way of segmenting your subscribers and making sure that you're following up with your most engaged subscribers in this promotion.

Because of this though, it does mean that you would not be able to add a Countdown Hero timer into the same email sequence in which you're using the Link Click trigger URL.

That is because the timers will show up as all 000's if your subscriber has not clicked on any of the previous emails (which can be pretty confusing for them).

How To Handle This:

Instead, where you're using the Link Click URL as your trigger method, we typically recommend that you use two separate sequences for this:

  1. Sequence #1 (Click Sequence):
This is where your emails push for the subscriber to click and check out your offer. Then, when they do click, they are removed from the remainder of this sequence and move immediately into Sequence #2.

(Using Kajabi? Here's how you need to configure your 'Click Sequence')

  2. Sequence #2 (Conversion Sequence):
This is sent after your subscribers click the trigger link and their countdown is created. In that case, because you know the moment in which the timer is triggered, you can also follow-up more specifically with copy such as "60 minutes to go" in those emails, which will help ramp up the urgency in this campaign too.
